Chameleon disease: some news

Published by Cyril Grither on September 4, 2026

Dear associations,

Hello everyone

We hope you had a great summer.

Here's some news from the chameleon campaign. (See attached image for details!!)

Caméléon is back in action, but he hasn't been idle during the summer:

-The website www.maladiecaméléon.fr It was launched at the beginning of the summer. Go check it out and share it on your social networks, website, email, etc…

-The JC Decaux – AFCA poster campaign enabled almost 10,000 visitors to learn about amyloidosis and around a hundred played the big Chameleon game: The winners will be revealed on October 26.

-For the start of the academic year, a press conference is being organized with academic and community stakeholders. You are all invited. We will have only 30 minutes to brief journalists and 30 minutes to answer their questions. AFLAR, AFCA, and Alliance du Coeur will speak briefly to present their organizations. We anticipate questions from journalists, and you are welcome to attend and answer their questions.

The conference is scheduled for Thursday, September 10, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, with the session starting at 10:30 AM. If you wish to join the conference, please let us know.

In the meantime, journalists will be publishing articles, conducting interviews, etc., to promote the information and screening campaign for the chameleon disease, likely coinciding with World Osteoarthritis Day (September 17) and World Heart Day (September 29). All of this is expected to take place between September and October.

-The regional press will be activated in October and will come to interview healthcare workers from the participating centers: Get ready!!!

Finally, screening will begin in over 50 hospitals on Monday, October 26, World Amyloidosis Day. Preparations are underway. The Ethics Committee (CPP) approved the "CHAMELEON Study" on June 12. The testing booths are ready. Contracts are being finalized with the Regional Clinical Investigation Centers (DRCI). 80,000 pages have been printed to provide the scientific study materials. The boxes containing the equipment for the booths and the study materials will be sent to the centers in October.

And with all that «"Tick, tock," it's time to change the tick-tick, let's move to the tick-tock!!!...and let's move towards earlier detection by working all together!

A big thank you to everyone for your support and help.
We absolutely need your help to spread the word about this campaign and bring people to be screened at participating hospitals!

Feel free to forward this email to your teams.

Best regards to you all

The organizing committee of the Chameleon Campaign.
